Faculty and Staff

Mr. Gillespie is a born and bred Calgarian with a passion for film, music and theatre. He attended the University of Calgary and received bachelor degrees in Dramatic Arts and Education. He has been an active teacher for over 30 years who has taught in numerous schools in the Public and Separate School Boards, as well as a number of Private Schools. For 10 years, he taught Dramatic and Expressive Arts in London, England. While living in the U.K., he taught, worked and had extensive training with the National Theatre of London and the Royal Shakespeare Company of London. Mr. Gillespie is also a professional playwright, theatre director and magician.

Mr. Gillespie is very pleased to be returning to the Third Academy in the role of Dramatic Arts teacher and Expressive Arts Lead. In previous years with Third Academy, he facilitated a number of theatrical productions with the entire student population; these include Mary Poppins, The Beatles Yellow Submarine and The Lion King. He is looking forward to bring these and many other full scale productions for parents and family members to enjoy.
